UPDATE: The Binghamton Senators have won the Calder Cup. Parade on Wednesday!
Binghamton Planning Calder Cup Parade For AHL’s Senators, Who Have Yet To Win Anything
The Binghamton Senators can win the AHL’s Calder Cup on Tuesday night when they take on the Houston Aeros in Game 6 at Toyota Center in Houston. They could also win on Thursday night in Game 7 in Houston.
Point is, they haven’t won yet. They have the upper hand, a 3-2 lead in the series, but nothing has been won just yet. So hey, let’s announce plans for the parade, City of Binghamton, N.Y.!
If the B-Sens win tonight, there will be a parade at 6 p.m. Wednesday. If the B-Sens win on Thursday, the parade will be at 6 p.m. Friday.
The parade will proceed from the Main and Arthur streets intersection to the Washington and Stuart streets intersection, ending in front of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena where Binghamton Mayor Matthew T. Ryan’s office will have a news conference.
It’s from the City, not the team, so it’s not like we can blame the Senators for this. But there’s no doubt that’ll be bulletin board material for the Aeros, who have two games left at home in this series.
