Los Angeles Kings Making Hard Push For Brad Richards

Brad Richards is the most sought-after free agent on this July 1, and if the Los Angeles Kings have their way, they're going to be the ones to get him.

According to Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times, all of the big guns are at the offices of Brad Richards’ agent on Friday to make a personal, strong pitch to the free agent forward and his crew. We’re talking everybody, too. The coaching staff, CEO Tim Leiweke, everybody.

Eliott reports that the Kings didn't want the news known, but that they are indeed going all in. It's the second summer that the Kings have been in on the strongest free agent on the market, after going right down to the wire with the New Jersey Devils on Ilya Kovalchuk a year ago.

Other teams expected to be interested in Richards include the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres. For more on the Kings and this news, check in with SB Nation's Jewels From The Crown.
