His playing time diminished in the postseason and, according to Joe Haggerty of CSN New England, the Bruins were only willing to offer him a two-year deal this summer. Apparently, Kaberle wasn’t alright with that, and now he’s a Hurricane.
Essentially, this is a swap of Corvo and Kaberle. Nobody will tell you that Corvo is nearly as solid a defenseman as Kaberle, but he is a $1.75 million cheaper per season, and that contract expires at the end of next season anyway.
