ECHL Exploring Options For Outdoor Game In 2012-13

Heartbreaking news, guys. The ECHL will skip their All-Star Game in 2012.

↵But hey, exciting news! Well, depending on how you feel about outdoor hockey games. If you like them, be happy: the ECHL is hoping to stage some sort of outdoor game during the 2012-13 season as part of their 25th Anniversary celebration. So, that’s cool. Or maybe outdoor games are jumping the shark. Your call.

↵More from a league in which I was a season ticket holder just six years ago but now don’t even recognize: they’ll switch to five divisions of four teams each next season, and they’ll switch to an attainable icing rule that allows icing to be waived off if it’s committed on an “attainable” or receivable passing attempt.
