Sean Avery isn't the most squeaky clean player in the NHL, either on or off the ice, as hockey fans will know. That said, it isn't exactly surprising that the New York Rangers star was arrested early Friday morning for allegedly shoving a police officer responding to a party at his Hollywood Hills home.
Sean Avery Arrested After New York Rangers Star Shoves Cop, According To Report
Sean Avery was arrested for by the Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly shoving a police officer responding to a loud party violation at the New York Rangers player’s home.

Avery was arrested for by the Los Angeles Police Department around 1 a.m. Friday after officers responded to complaints about a loud party at the hockey player’s home, according WABC-TV in New York. The television station reports that Avery was charged with battery on a police officer, a misdemeanor, with bail being set at $20,000.
Police say Avery answered the door, and after a brief conversation, the Rangers left winger pushed the officer away and shut the door in his face. Additional officers were called and police say Avery was extremely cooperative after that.
This isn’t good news for the Rangers player, following the strides he was making in cleaning up his off-ice reputation by championing gay rights issues in New York, but it sounds like Avery cleaned up his act before too much damage was done.
