Every summer, the NHL issues an Official Guide & Record Book. Basically, it’s a big book with a bunch of stats and stuff in it, and the only people who actually buy it are those who like to have important, official looking things on their desks. Or people who don’t know how to use the Internet, considering literally everything in the book can be found easily online.
Bruins Vs. Canucks Feud Officially Jumps Shark As Vancouver Media Throws Zdeno Chara In Trash
The one other use for the book, though, might be the collectors element for fans of the defending Stanley Cup champion. The captain of last year’s champion always graces the cover, and this year was no different, with Zdeno Chara’s smiling face adorning the gold and black cover.

As you might imagine, rivals of the Boston Bruins might not like seeing this book for an entire year. It's just a nasty reminder of that team's success, and if you're in Vancouver, where the Canucks were just a game away from gracing this cover instead of the B's, well... you might be extra bitter.
And after the mayhem that surrounded Saturday’s rematch between the Canucks and Bruins, well...

These are the NHL's guide books in the press box at BankAtlantic Center in Florida. The Vancouver Canucks were in town on Monday night, and apparently, somebody from the Vancouver delegation took matters into their own hands. How dare you keep those books out on the desk when the Canucks come to town, guys.
