NHL All-Star Game 2012 Score: Teams Tied 6-6 After Second Period, Marian Gaborik Has Hat Trick

The outcome of the 2012 NHL All-Star Game doesn’t matter all that much: whether Team Chara or Team Alfredsson ultimately prevails, the fans in attendance and watching at home probably just want a show. With the two teams tied at six goals apiece after the second period in Ottawa, there’s a fairly good chance they get that.

Team Chara got the first two goals of the second period to break out to a 5-3 lead, but Team Alfredsson answered with three straight goals to take its first lead of the night before Team Chara netted the final goal of the period. Daniel Alfredsson himself had two of his team's goals, and now leads it with those two goals, while Marian Gaborik's goal early in the period gave him a hat trick for Team Chara.

And with the game tied, it’s possible that a third period might be an exciting one to decide the outcome. You know, the one in the game that comes after Drake’s between-periods performance.
