NHL lockout 2012: No talks scheduled, according to Bill Daly

The NHL and NHL Players Association have yet to schedule any future talks, according to NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly via email on Monday.

As of last week, the league set a deadline for Thursday, Oct. 25 to come to terms on a new collective bargaining agreement with the players association in order to play a condensed 82-game schedule starting on Nov. 2. After the two sides exchanged proposals last week, it became apparent that there still remains a gap between the groups.

On Tuesday, the NHL offered a 50/50 split of hockey-related revenue without the inclusion of salary rollbacks. On Thursday, the NHLPA countered with three separate proposals that all eventually lowered the players’ share to 50/50 over the course of the deal.

While the two sides have yet to schedule any future negotiations, they were in contact over the weekend when Daly talked to union representative Steve Fehr via phone in order to clarify existing positions.
