2012 Swedish Hockey standings: HV71 atop Elitserien, Leksands IF leads Allsvenskan

An update of the standings for the Swedish hockey leagues Elitserien and Allsvenskan.

HV71 currently holds sole possession of first place in the Swedish professional ice hockey league Elitserien with a total of 36 points. The club has a three point lead over Luleå HF who currently sits in second and a five point lead over Linköpings HC in third.

As of last week, Brynäs IF and MODO Hockey had been in a four-way tie for second place but have since dropped in the standings to fifth and sixth place. Rögle BK currently sits in last place in the league, having only registered 14 points in 17 games played this season.

In Sweden’s other professional league, Hockey Allsvenskan, Leksands IF currently sits in first place with a total of 34 points. The club holds a one point lead over BIK Karlskoga who sits in second place and a five point lead over VIK Västerås HK in third.

Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog and his club Djurgårdens IF sit near the bottom of the standings with 22 points in 16 games played.
