The Charlotte Checkers are two points back of the Heat for top honors in the West (Abbotsford has a game in hand) but have a two-point lead over the Oklahoma City Barons for first place in the South Division. Oklahoma City holds possession of fourth place in the Western Conference and is currently on a five-game winning streak, in addition to winning six of their last seven.
The Grand Rapids Griffins are in third place in the Western Conference and have registered 22 points in 17 games. They currently hold a two-point lead over the Chicago Wolves for first place in the Midwest Division.
In the Eastern Conference, the Syracuse Crunch have registered 26 points in 17 games and have a two-point cushion on the second-place Springfield Falcons (both teams possess four-point leads in their divisions). The Manchester Monarchs claim ownership to third place in the conference and have a one-point lead over the Worcester Sharks in the Atlantic Division.
