NHL lockout odds: Will union decertify? Will season be canceled?
Odds have been set on the likelihood of the NHL Players Association decertifying as well as the cancellation of the entire season.

Over the last couple of weeks, discussions of the union opting to decertify has begun to pick up momentum. With collective bargaining negotiations with the NHL seemingly at a standstill, decertification is a maneuver that potentially could push the board of governors into a favorable compromise or could result in a court ending the lockout.
If the union were to decertify, the league would be opened to anti-trust lawsuits from the players. The players would look to argue in court that the lockout is unlawful. With a favorable ruling for the players, league operations would resume.
However, it is an extreme measure that wouldn’t necessarily play out cleanly.
Even if the players won their initial suit, subsequent appeals could overturn the decision, which would take a considerable amount of time. Most believe decertification would result in the loss of the 2012-13 season.
At Bovada, the line for the cancellation of the season is currently set at 11/10, while the line for the season not being canceled is set at 2/3.
