USA vs. Germany, WJC 2013: Preview, TV schedule, game time and more

Team USA will begin play in the World Junior Championship on Thursday morning.

Team USA will begin play in the 2013 World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia on Thursday morning when the team challenges Germany in Group B play.

Thursday’s contest will be Germany’s second game of the tournament, as they opened on Wednesday against Team Canada. Germany was heavily outmatched by Canada, with the team losing, 9-3.

Team Germany goaltender Elmar Trautmann played all 60 minutes in the blowout and registered 37 saves on 46 shots. Tobias Rieder, Leonhard Pfoderl and Nickolas Latta all scored goals for Germany.

Team USA is the only team yet to begin competition in Group B as Russia and Slovakia also played on Wednesday morning. Russia defeated Slovakia in overtime by a final score of 3-2. Entering the second day of the competition, Team Canada possesses first place in the group with three points, Russia is in second place with two points and Slovakia is in third place with one point.

The game between USA and Germany will be broadcast live in North America on the NHL Network at 9 a.m. ET and will be re-broadcast at 8 p.m. ET, as well as 10:30 p.m. ET. NHL.com will stream the game live in the United States.

The game can be seen live in Canada on TSN at 9 a.m. ET.
