Dominic Moore Traded With 7th-Round Pick To San Jose Sharks For 2nd-Round Pick
Dominic Moore has been traded to the San Jose Sharks by the Tampa Bay Lightning. A seventh-round pick will travel with him to the West Coast, and a second-round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft goes back to Tampa Bay.

Moore, a 31-year-old center, comes with a cap hit of $1.1 million for the remainder of the season. He's an unrestricted free agent come July, so it's very possible this is just a rental for the rest of the year. Moore's a third-line center on the Lightning, and it's unclear exactly how he'll slot in on the Sharks depth chart, but he's experienced deep playoff runs in each of the last two seasons -- with Tampa Bay in 2011 and with the Montreal Canadiens in 2010.
The Lightning host the Sharks on Thursday night, but Moore won’t switch dressing rooms and play against his old team. The trade was announced just minutes before the scheduled 7:30 p.m. puck drop.
