The New York Rangers have enjoyed a resurgence this season and are one of the very best teams in the NHL. They're currently sitting comfortably atop both the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference, with the next-closest Eastern team a full nine points behind them.

The Rangers have experienced a setback, however, as team captain Ryan Callahan has suffered an injury that could knock him out of Thursday night's game. NHL.com reports that Callahan has a bruised foot and is currently listed as day-to-day. If he misses the game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, it will be the first game that he's missed all season.

Besides providing leadership for the team, Callahan is also one of New York’s key offensive contributors. His 25 goals place him second on the team in scoring.
