Ryan Callahan Injury: Rangers Captain To Sit Thursday Vs. Carolina

Ryan Callahan will miss Thursday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes with a bruised foot, the New York Rangers announced on Thursday morning. The Rangers captain is still listed as day-to-day and there's no word on his status for Friday's game against Tampa Bay.

Callahan has yet to miss a game this season for the Rangers, and he ranks in second place on the team with 25 goals on the year. He missed seven games -- five of which were playoff games -- with a broken right leg suffered near the end of the regular season last April. He also missed 19 games with a broken hand earlier last season, so a bruised foot seems relatively minor in comparison.
