As Senators blog Silver Seven points out, it’s the seventh straight season the Leafs have been on the outside looking in on the postseason. The Senators, meanwhile, have only missed the playoffs six times in their modern history, dating back to 1992.

Technically speaking, Tuesday was L.E.D. 2012, as the Leafs fell to the Carolina Hurricanes and were officially taken out of postseason contention. But we don't have to get technical. This is a joyous occasion for so many.
