Ben Lovejoy Added To Pittsburgh Penguins Lineup For Game 1 Vs. Flyers

Defenseman Ben Lovejoy will be in the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup as the team takes the ice for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series against the Philadelphia Flyers. On Wednesday night, the Pens announced the news.

Lovejoy skated in the morning skate at CONSOL Energy Center before the game, and after warmups just prior to puck drop, he determined he could join his teammates in game action. Lovejoy has been out for several weeks with a knee injury and missed the last seven games of the regular season. His addition means that Brian Strait will be a healthy scratch, and it's expected that Lovejoy joins the third pairing with Deryk Engelland.

Defenseman Matt Niskanen remains out of the Pittsburgh lineup.
