The Pittsburgh Penguins are understandably frustrated. They've blown leads in Games 1 and 2 of their series with the Flyers, and in Game 3 the scene has turned ugly. The Flyers have come back from yet another deficit and, when Brayden Schenn laid a hit on Matt Cooke Paul Martin in the first period, tough guy Arron Asham let his emotions get the best of him.

But that doesn’t mean it warranted the reaction from Asham. He cross-checked Schenn right in the throat, then delivered several punches a punch to the back of the head of the Flyer after he collapsed to the ice. Asham was given a match penalty, which comes with an automatic game misconduct, for the play. Schenn went to the locker room but shortly returned to the ice and took at least one shift down the stretch of the first period.
