Senators Vs. Rangers, NHL Playoffs 2012 Game 3: Brian Boyle, Henrik Lundqvist Lead NY To 1-0 Win

The New York Rangers may have seen their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series against the Ottawa Senators slipping away heading into the third period of Monday night's Game 3 in Ottawa. But thanks to another timely Brian Boyle goal and typical brilliance from Henrik Lundqvist, the Rangers got a 1-0 win in Game 3, and a 2-1 series lead.

Lundqvist had 39 saves for his first shutout of the 2012 NHL playoffs, and Boyle backhanded in the only goal of the night midway through the third period to give the Rangers the victory.

Boyle, who had 11 goals for the Rangers in the regular season, now has three in this series alone, and has both game-winners. And Lundqvist has a staggering 98 saves on 103 shots through three games against the Senators.

The Senators outshot the Rangers, 39-23, and had double-digit shots in all three periods. But they could not crack Lundqvist, and Craig Anderson's own excellent play in goal was not enough to stave off New Yyork.

Game 4 between the Rangers and Senators will take place Wednesday in Ottawa.
