Senators Vs. Rangers, NHL Playoffs 2012 Game 4: 60 Minutes Not Enough

Sixty minutes were not enough as the New York Rangers and Ottawa Senators are headed to overtime in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.

The Senators are looking to even up the series, which heads back to New York on Saturday night.

Rangers forward Anton Stralman opened the scoring just 49 seconds into the first period when he beat Senators goalie Craig Anderson with a wrist shot on the power play. Rangers captain Ryan Callahan scored a power play goal a few minutes later to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.

The Senators answered back in the second period, with Milan Michalek beating Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist with a backhand shot on a 2-on-1 break at the tail end of a New York power play. Ten minutes later, Senators defenseman Sergei Gonchar's point shot squeezed through Lundqvist's left arm and body, trickling into the net to the tie the score at 2-2.

Aided by a pair of man advantages in the third period, the Rangers pumped 11 shots at Anderson, who kept the Senators in the game. On the night, the Rangers are 2-of-7 on the power play, while the Senators are 1-of-5. Shots are now tied at 30 apiece, though Rangers skaters have blocked an additional 30 shots before they could get to Lundqvist.
