Jaroslav Halak will miss at least the first two games of the St. Louis Blues' second round series against the Los Angeles Kings, head coach Ken Hitchcock announced Monday. Halak left Game 2 against the San Jose Sharks early in the second period after suffering an ankle injury on a collision with teammate Barret Jackman.

Jaroslav will miss at least Game 1 and 2 of the St. Louis Blues’ second-round series against the Los Angeles Kings. Brian Elliott will remain in net, where he has thrived since Halak went down in Game 2 against the San Jose Sharks.
Halak skated for the first time Sunday after wearing a walking boot for four days. The team left open the possibility that the veteran goaltender could miss more time once the first two games were over. Even if healthy, there will have to be some discussion of whether Halak should go back in net considering how well backup Brian Elliott has played this season and in the 2012 NHL Playoffs.
The Blues are undefeated with Elliott in net through three games and most of a fourth. He is posting a 1.37 goals-against average and .949 save percentage so far this postseason. During the regular season, Elliott was first among goaltenders who have played at least 30 games with a .940 save percentage and 1.56 GAA.
