Bruins Vs. Capitals Game 7 Score, NHL Playoffs 2012: Boston Power Play Still Stinks; Washington Up 1-0

The Bruins won the Stanley Cup with an awful power play in 2011, but in 2012, that same power play might be their downfall. They were given a man advantage at the end of the first period of Game 7 against the Capitals, but they're apparently not all that fond of scoring goals while up a player. Entering the man-advantage, they'd scored just two goals in 20 power plays during the series.

Boston failed to sustain offensive zone pressure for more than 20 seconds at a time on the man advantage as the Capitals outworked them in the corners and handled Boston’s lack of attack rather easily. There are still 10 seconds remaining on the power play at the start of the second period, but we’ll go out on a limb and say the Bruins won’t score.

Two for 21.

Meanwhile, the official scorers in Boston have officially changed their tune and credited John Carlson's goal to Matt Hendricks, and all is right in the world (unless you're a Bruins fan.)
