The Los Angeles Kings may be considered underdogs against the St. Louis Blues because of their lower seed, but there's no reason to believe this won't be a great series from start to finish. In addition to the fact that the Kings more than proved themselves as playoff contenders with their win over the Vancouver Canucks, they got the better of St. Louis in the regular season, winning three of the four games between the two teams.
NHL Playoffs 2012, Blues Vs. Kings Game 1: Game Time, TV Coverage And More
The Los Angeles Kings and St. Louis Blues begin their Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday.
This series should be defined by the battle between two of the NHL's hottest goalies. Because of an injury to Jaroslav Halak, Brian Elliott has taken over as the No. 1 goalie in St. Louis. He was excellent in the regular season and carried his form into the Blues' first-round series against the San Jose Sharks. Opposite him will be Jonathan Quick, arguably the best player between the two teams in the Kings-Canucks series.
