Are the Los Angeles Kings for real?
NHL Playoffs 2012, Blues Vs. Kings Game 2: Game Time, TV Coverage And More
Can the Kings keep up their giant-killing ways? They’ll have a chance to take a 2-0 lead on the St. Louis Blues in Game 2 Monday night.
It was cute for the No. 8 seed to take a series lead over the Vancouver Canucks. It happened to the Ottawa Senators too, in the East. Then they ended up not just competing against the Canucks, but comfortably winning the series, 4-1. And now, with a 3-1 victory in Game 1 over the St. Louis Blues, it looks like their giant-killing days may not be over.
Some of the Kings’ performance was a tad fluky: the Kings knocked Alex Pietrangelo out of the game and their scoreline benefitted from a short-handed goal and a silly bank shot empty-netter with 15 seconds to go. But the victory also reflects a hard-fought win bolstered by a spectacular performance between the pipes by Jonathan Quick.
