The Nashville Predators are not joking around. They've suspended both Andrei Kostitsyn and Alexander Radulov from action in Game 3 against the Phoenix Coyotes due to a violation of team rules, according to a press release.
Nashville Predators Suspend Alex Radulov, Andrei Kostitsyn For Game 3 After Violating Team Rules
Alexander Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn have been suspended for Game 3 against the Coyotes after violating team rules.
There are no details on what exactly the pair did to get under the skin of head coach Barry Trotz and general manger David Poile, but Poile released a statement on the reasoning. It’s pretty vague, but it hinted at some sort of attitude issue.
“The Nashville Predators have a few simple rules centered around doing the right things,” Poile said. “We have always operated with a team-first mentality and philosophy. Violating team rules is not fair to our team and their teammates.”
The Predators host the Coyotes in a virtual must-win Game 3 at Bridgestone Arena. Radulov in particular was ripped in the media after Game 2 for his poor play, but there’s no doubt that these two players are vital pieces of the Nashville roster. Sitting them down in such an important game is shocking.
