For much of the regular season, the New York Rangers looked unstoppable. By contrast, the Washington Capitals had such a terrible first half to their 2011-12 season that it was a surprise to some that they managed to make it into the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs at all.

But nothing had come easy for the Rangers so far in the postseason, as they needed seven games to topple the Ottawa Senators. Washington also needed seven games to advance, but they proved they would not give up and eliminated the defending champion Boston Bruins.
The Caps are demonstrating that same never-say-die attitude so far in the second round, as they have knotted their Eastern Conference semifinal matchup 1-1 as the series heads into D.C. for Game 3 on Wednesday night. Both of these teams have a lot they want to prove.
The puck will drop on Wednesday’s game at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on NBS Sports Network (formerly Vs.)
