Mikael Granlund Signs Contract With Minnesota Wild
The Minnesota Wild have locked up one of the top prospects in hockey. Mikael Granlund has signed a three-year contract with the team.


Michael Russo at the Star Tribune reports that the forward has signed a three-year deal with the Wild that is worth $2.7 million, including $90,000 annual signing bonuses. He will be likely to be a part of the Wild roster in the fall.
Granlund has been tearing up the Finnish Elite League. In three consecutive seasons with IFK-Helsinki, the young star has won the Rookie of the Year Award, piloted his team to a championship and led the team in scoring. Granlund is a huge celebrity in his native Finland and is the No. 2 ranked prospect in all of professional hockey.
NHL fans may not have long to wait to see his talents locally on a regular basis.
