The Los Angeles Kings are the NHL's hottest upstart in the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs, and on Thursday, they'll have a chance to go up 3-0 on the St. Louis Blues. If the Kings can do so at home in L.A., it will be their second consecutive 3-0 start against a top-two team in the West.
NHL Playoffs 2012, Kings Vs. Blues Game 3: Game Time, TV Coverage And More
The Kings look to go up 3-0 at home on the second-seeded Blues.
The Kings, who got to the Western Conference semifinals against the Blues with a 4-1 series win over the top-seeded Vancouver Canucks that began with a stunning 3-0 start, have been riding Jonathan Quick, their stellar goaltender, in this postseason. And with a .952 save percentage, he's been a decent steed.
But the Kings also exploded for four goals in the first period of their 5-2 Game 2 win against St. Louis. And that leaves the Blues between Quick's rock-like performance in net and the hard place that is containing the Kings when Dustin Penner and Anze Kopitar are on their games.
