Coyotes Vs. Predators, NHL Playoffs 2012 Game 5: No Score After 1st Period

It's scoreless after the first period in the Monday night matchup between the hosting Phoenix Coyotes and Nashville Predators in the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Coyotes hold a 3-1 lead in the series and are just one win away from the Western Conference finals, where they would face off against the Los Angeles Kings.

In the early going, the Predators are doing everything in their power to keep the series alive for at least one more game. They have gone on the attack, taking 10 shots on goal against just five from the Coyotes. Nashville also managed a power play in the last three minutes of the period, but the Coyotes were able to kill it admirably.

Mike Smith has once again been stellar through the first period in net for Phoenix, stopping every shot.
