Kings Vs. Devils, 2012 Stanley Cup Finals Game 3: L.A. Up 2-0 After 2 Periods

The New Jersey Devils have scored two goals in the Stanley Cup Finals. For the first time in those same Stanley Cup Finals, a team has scored two goals in a period — and, in a non-shocking turn of events, it’s the Los Angeles Kings, who scored twice in the second period of Game 3 to build a 2-0 lead heading into the final period.

Alec Martinez got the first goal of the game on a play in the crease that got Martin Brodeur hot and bothered, and Anze Kopitar followed with his eighth goal of the playoffs after serving one of the Kings' three penalties in the period.

L.A.‘s special teams continue to be dominant: the Kings are now 6-for-6 on penalty kills on the night.
