Jordan Staal will be with his brother for a while. The Carolina Hurricanes announced Sunday that they've locked up the brother of captain Eric Staal to a 10-year, $60 million contract. The 23-year-old was acquired via trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins on the opening night of the NHL Draft last Friday.

Jordan Staal has been locked up by the Carolina Hurricanes. The brother of captain Eric has signed a 10-year deal with the club.
The deal will keep him in Raleigh through the 2022-23 season.
“We are very pleased that Jordan has chosen to commit to the Hurricanes organization and to make North Carolina his home,” general manager Jim Rutherford said in a statement. “At 23 years old he is just starting to come into his prime, and he now represents a cornerstone of our franchise for the long term.”
Staal is under contract for the 2012-13 season, the final year of the four-year deal he signed with Pittsburgh in 2009. His cap hit under that contract comes in at $4 million per season. The cap hit under the new deal comes in at $6 million per season.
