On Sunday afternoon, the Columbus Blue Jackets traded defenseman Marc Methot to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Nick Foligno. Methot is a native of Ottawa and has spent his entire career within the Blue Jackets organization after the club drafted him with the No. 168 overall selection in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Marc Methot Traded To Senators For Nick Foligno
The Ottawa Senators have acquired Marc Methot from the Columbus Blue Jackets for Nick Foligno.


Foligno spent his entire career with the Senators dating back to when the team drafted him with the No. 28 overall selection in the 2006 Entry Draft. The 24-year old forward registered 61 goals and 87 points for a total of 148 points in 351 career games over five seasons in Ottawa.
In addition to Methot, the Senators also added unrestricted free agent forward Guillaume Latendresse to the roster by signing him to a one-year, $1.25 million deal. The 25-year old forward has struggled over the last two seasons, playing only a combined 27 games over that span.
