Roberto Luongo rumors: Flyers reportedly interested in Canucks goaltender
The Philadelphia Flyers are reportedly interested in acquiring Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo.

In a surprising twist, the Philadelphia Flyers are also interested in the Vancouver Canucks' high-priced backup goaltender, according to multiple reports on Wednesday.
The story originally began with a report from Enrico Ciccone of TVA Sports and was later confirmed by James Duthie of TSN. Adrian Dater from the Denver Post and Sports Illustrated was also involved, adding that Vancouver was interested in acquiring Philadelphia defenseman Nicklas Grossmann or forward Brayden Schenn.
Flyers’ general manager Paul Holmgren laughed off the report after Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News approached him for comment.
Of course, Dater was quick to reference Holmgren’s spotted past with denials.
Ultimately, all involved noted that the likelihood of the deal actually occurring was probably remote and that Philadelphia was merely interested in exploring the situation.
However, Jimmy Murphy of ESPN Boston tweeted on Thursday morning that a source informed him that Philadelphia, Toronto and Vancouver were working on a three-way deal prior to Brian Burke being relieved as the Maple Leafs general manager.
In that deal, Luongo would have gone to Toronto.
