New Jersey Devils forward Adam Henrique is hoping to return to the team's lineup in February, according to a report by Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger on Friday.

Henrique is currently rehabilitating from surgery on his left thumb to reattach a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He originally sustained the injury while playing for the Devils’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Albany Devils, on Nov. 28.

The 22-year-old is working out and going to therapy everyday in order to improve the motion and strength in the thumb. As of Friday, he hasn’t started skating but is expecting to return to the ice either next week or the week after.

If all goes according to plan, he should be ready to re-join the team in February.

However, Henrique made it clear that no time-table has been set and the main goal is to make sure he is strong enough to return to regular action.
