The Los Angeles Kings lost two players to waivers on Tuesday afternoon as the Nashville Predators claimed forward Rich Clune and the New York Islanders claimed defenseman Thomas Hickey, according to Darren Dreger of TSN.

Hickey was originally drafted by the Kings with the No. 4 overall selection in the 2007 NHL Draft.
Despite being a first-round pick, Hickey never dressed for an NHL game during his time with the organization. From 2008-10, the defenseman suffered a string of injuries, which forced him to miss time. In his first two seasons with the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, Hickey played in only 26 games.
Over the last two years he has managed to play at least 76 games per season. He has played in 33 games this season.
Clune was originally selected with the No. 71 overall pick in the 2005 NHL Draft by the Dallas Stars.
Acquired by Los Angeles in 2008 via trade, Clune played in 14 regular season games, as well as four playoff games with the Kings during the 2009-10 season.
