The St. Louis Blues have come to terms on an agreement with unrestricted free agent defenseman Wade Redden, according to an announcement on the team's official website.

Wade Redden has come to terms on a contract agreement with the St. Louis Blues, which will end his exile in the AHL.

The deal is for one-year and will be worth $800,000 (in addition to bonuses that could top the value at $1 million).
He will be arriving in St. Louis this weekend and will undergo a physical evaluation on Sunday.
Redden, along with former teammate Scott Gomez, was one of the first players to receive a compliance buyout in the new collective bargaining agreement.
After signing a six-year, $39 million contract with the New York Rangers in 2008, Redden failed to live up to the expectations of such a large deal. Playing in only two season with the Rangers, Redden was placed on waivers in 2010 and joined the franchise's American Hockey League affiliate, the Connecticut Whale (who, at the time, were known as the Hartford Wolfpack).
He has since spent the last two years with the club.
As part of the compliance buyout, Redden will be paid his full (pro-rated) salary for this season from the Rangers, in addition to the salary the Blues have agreed to pay him.
