The New York Rangers have signed veteran Jason Arnott to a one-year contract, TSN's Darren Dreger reports. The 38-year-old center traveled to New York on Saturday to complete the deal, which will have a cap hit of around $1.6-$1.7 million.

The Rangers have added some depth by signing veteran center Jason Arnott to a one-year deal.

After spending the 2011-12 season with the St. Louis Blues, Arnott became an unrestricted free agent following the season. He played in 72 games with the Blues, recording 17 goals and 17 assists.
A two-time NHL All Star, most recently in 2008 with the Nashville Predators, Arnott gives the Rangers some seasoned depth at center. Currently 76th all time in goals scored and 89th all time in points recorded, Arnott also won a Stanley Cup with the rival New Jersey Devils in 2000.
Over the course of his 13-year career, Arnott has also played for the Edmonton Oilers, Washington Capitals and Dallas Stars. The Rangers will be his seventh NHL team.
