Maple Leafs vs. Oilers: Joffrey Lupul’s late goal leads to Toronto overtime win

Devan Dubnyk’s late meltdown gave Toronto a 6-5 win on Saturday.

Things got a little nutty in Toronto on Saturday. The Oilers and Maple Leafs combined for eleven goals in a sloppy defensive affair that was bound to end with one team blowing the game late. In this case, the odds usually favor the team with the worst save percentage in the league.

Sure enough, the Oilers blew a 5-4 lead with 31 seconds left when Devan Dubnyk gave up the game-tying goal to Joffrey Lupul.

Edmonton had another chance to save face in overtime, but promptly let Dave Bolland score the winner on a 3-on-1 breakaway. The 6-5 loss drops Edmonton to 1-4 on the year.
