Here is some nice tic-tac-toe passing from the Capitals power play

The Washington Capitals power play continued to excel on Monday night. They were making it look easy against Edmonton.

The Washington Capitals' power play has been dynamite in the early part of the season and that was unit was clicking on all cylinders against an overmatched Edmonton penalty kill on Monday.

Washington scored three goals over a four minute stretch of the second period on Monday, with two goals coming on the power play. The third goal, which was scored by Troy Brouwer, finished off some precision tic-tac-toe passing from Nicklas Backstrom and Mikhail Grabovski.

That assist from Backstrom was already his third of the night.
