The Philadelphia Flyers are already having some issues defensively this season, and this news isn't likely to make things any better.

Defenseman Kimmo Timonen had to leave Thursday's game against Pittsburgh after two periods with what the team is calling a "lower body injury."
He logged 13 minutes of ice-time through the first two periods before leaving. Timonen has played more than 21 minutes per game this season and has yet to record a point. He signed a one-year, $6 million contract extension last season to return to the team.
Even though he's yet to score this season, he's been Philadelphia's best possession player on defense. The Flyers take more than 52 percent of the total shot attempts with him on the ice. Braydon Coburn is the only other defenseman on the team that's over 50 percent.
The Flyers are already dealing with a couple of significant injuries to forwards Vincent Lecavalier and Scott Hartnell.
