NHL Scores: Devils get a win, Seth Jones scores a big goal for Nashville
Every NHL team now has a win thanks to the New Jersey Devils’ win over the New York Rangers. Seth Jones scored his biggest goal to date and Mike Smith scored his first goal in the NHL.

The Devils picked up their first win of the season with a 4-0 shutout over the New York Rangers behind the strong goaltending performance of Cory Schneider and a two-point night from Jaromir Jagr.
Elsewhere, the Bruins steamrolled over the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Buffalo Sabres continued their dreadful play with a 4-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche.
Seth Jones scored a beautiful goal for the Nashville Predators and Phoenix Coyotes goalie Mike Smith tallied his first career NHL goal in a 5-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

1. Can the Leafs end their drought against Chicago?
This game went as it should have been expected to go. The Blackhawks dominated Toronto territory and came away with a 3-1 win. The Maple Leafs didn’t generate much offense and lost their second game in a row.
2. Will the Bruins complete the Sunshine State Sweep?
Oh my, did they ever. This game was never close as the Bruins rolled to a 5-0 win, scoring all five goals on just 22 shots. Even tough-guy Shawn Thornton got into the act netting his first goal of the season early in the third period.
Yes, the Devils rolled to a 4-0 win and they did so without a couple of their own key players, Patrick Elias and Damian Brunner. Cory Schneider recorded his first win and shutout with the Devils as they became the last team in the league this season to get a win. They’ve been playing better than their record has indicated this season and some of the bounces finally started to go their way.
4. Who wins the battle for Canada's starting goaltender spot?
Marc-Andre Fleury left in a soft goal in the first period but rebounded the rest of the way to help lead the Penguins to a 4-3 shootout win. Vancouver controlled the pace of the game for much of the afternoon so Fleury needed to come up big, and he did exactly that. Luongo was pretty good himself, and even stopped a Brandon Sutter penalty shot with a minute to play in a tie game, but Fleury was just a little bit better.
5. Will Montreal extend their winning streak?
The Canadiens' winning streak came to an end at four games with a 2-1 loss to the Nashville Predators. Rookie defenseman Seth Jones scored the game-winning goal with less than two minutes to play, and it was a beauty.

Seth Jones stole the show on Saturday night with his smooth game-winning goal against the Montreal Canadiens, and he is already the front-runner for the Calder Trophy which goes to the NHL's rookie of the year. He's playing many minutes in Nashville and making a huge impact. It's enough to wonder how he fell to the No. 4 overall spot in the 2013 NHL draft.
Stat of the Night
This one comes from @TedStarkey, but it's just too good to pass up. With their win on Saturday, a 4-2 victory in Buffalo over the hapless Sabres, the Colorado Avalanche have already matched their road win total from all of last season. That would be four road wins. It's only the middle of October. It's a new, more exciting, and better Avalanche team.
