Roberto Luongo robs Thomas Hickey with a quick glove save

Thomas Hickey’s slap shot wasn’t quite good enough to beat Roberto Luongo.

The first 10 minutes of Tuesday's Canucks-Islanders game made it look like the two teams were playing with empty nets as they combined for four quick goals to open the contest.

But hark! There was some NHL goaltending taking place on the ice, and it was on display when Roberto Luongo snagged this wide open, rocket of a slap shot from Islanders defenseman Thomas Hickey.

That’s what you call a quality scoring chance, and HIckey managed to get every last bit of that shot.

It still wasn’t enough to beat the quick glove hand of Luongo.
