Almost 10 years after his life was forever changed, former NHL player Steve Moore will finally have his day in court. Moore's civil suit against Detroit Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi has been rescheduled to start on Sept. 8, 2014, and is projected to last three months in the audience of a jury, according to Michael Drapack of CBC.

The trial involving Steve Moore and Todd Bertuzzi has been scheduled for September of 2014.

Moore originally filed the suit against Bertuzzi in 2006, which came as the result of an on-ice incident that occurred in March of 2004, when Bertuzzi knocked Moore to the ice with a blindside punch. Moore fractured three vertebrae because of the fall and was unable to continue his professional career.
He is requesting $38 million in compensation.
The trial was supposed to begin last fall, but was delayed after a secret deal between Bertuzzi and the Vancouver Canucks ownership group, Orca Bay, came to light, which detailed how the two parties would split costs in the event they lost the suit. Moore's attorney, Tim Danson, won a decision to have the details of the agreement made available to him but still remain withheld from public record.
Bertuzzi was employed by the Canucks at the time of the incident.
