Marc-Andre Fleury with a behind the back save

Marc-Andre Fleury made a pretty incredible behind the back save against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night.

Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE

After losing his starting job in the playoffs to Tomas Vokoun, Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury entered the 2013-14 season under quite a bit of pressure.

He made quite a statement in the Penguins 3-0 season opening win against the New Jersey Devils by stopping all 27 shots he faced, including this incredible behind the back snag midway through the third period.

Those are the types of plays that he simply hasn’t made over the past four postseasons.

With Vokoun out 3-6 months due to a blood clot and an inexperience backup on the bench behind him the Penguins are going to have to lean on Fleury this season. Thursday’s game was a pretty good start for him.
