Blackhawks goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin left Saturday's game against the Nashville Predators with an apparent groin injury.
Nikolai Khabibulin injury: Blackhawks netminder exits game after goal
Corey Crawford replaced him in net.
The injury occurred late in the first period. Khabibulin seemingly overstretched while trying to stop a shot from the point and immediately collapsed to the ice in pain.
Not good. He was helped off the ice and Corey Crawford has manned the Chicago net ever since. It's just another low point in a season full of them for Khabibulin. He sports a 4.74 goals against average through four games and gave up two goals within a minute of each other in Nashville on Saturday. Apparently this is why a few fans on Twitter were happy about his injury. Not classy, guys.
There hasn’t been any update from the Blackhawks about his injury.
