Paul Martin from way downtown

Paul Martin used a perfectly placed wrist shot from the point to beat Braden Holtby to open the scoring in the first period on Wednesday night.

There is a pretty big game in Washington on Wednesday night and it was Pittsburgh striking first a little less than six minutes into the first period when Paul Martin scored his second goal of the season.

It was a perfectly placed wrist shot from the point that snuck through traffic and beat Braden Holtby in the top corner of the net.

That’s a rather low percentage shot from Martin, but it seemed to catch Holtby off guard. It’s hard to tell whether or not the shot was deflected, or if he just didn’t get a good look at it.
