Ben Lovejoy’s own goal wins it for Devils

The New Jersey Devils received a bit of help from the Anaheim Ducks in overtime on Wednesday night.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The New Jersey Devils were one minute away from yet another road loss. Then Jaromir Jagr scored his eighth goal of the season to end it to overtime, and that's where things started to get wild.

Martin Brodeur made a ridiculous save early in the extra period, and then something rare happened for the Devils this season: A good bounce went their way. The clearing attempt of Anaheim defenseman Ben Lovejoy bounced off of his teammate, Corey Perry, and went into the back of the net for the Devils' game-winning goal.

And with that, the Devils move to third place in the Metropolitan Division and the Ducks lost their fifth game in a row.
