5 NHL questions: Kings look to continue point streak

A daily feature that asks five questions about the days games. Will we get answers for them? (That’s not one of the questions).

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports
1. Will the Los Angeles Kings keep their point streak going?

The Kings haven't lost a game in regulation since Nov. 2 and have earned a point in the standings in 10 consecutive games. Will they make it 11 against the San Jose Sharks?

2. Will Alex Ovechkin score against Ottawa?

Ovechkin is on an unbelievable scoring tear to start the season and gets an Ottawa team that surrenders the most shots in the NHL. He’s sure to have his share of chances. Will one of them find the back of the net?

3. How will Pittsburgh play without Paul Martin?

The Penguins lost one of their best defenseman for the next four-to-six weeks with a broken tibia and that's a big blow to a team that's already dealing with its share of injuries. None of the current injuries are as big a Martin's, however, as he plays a team-high 25 minutes a night and plays in every situation. How will their defense play in his absence?

4. How will Vincent Lecavalier perform in his return to Tampa Bay?

Lecavalier will play his first game in Tampa Bay since the team bought him out over the summer. He is one of the best players in franchise history and was the focal point of the team's Stanley Cup win back in 2003-04. How will he perform in his first game in his old stomping grounds as an opposing player?

5. Will the Phoenix Coyotes score four or more goals?

Here’s a shocking stat: The Phoenix Coyotes are the fourth-highest scoring team in the NHL this season averaging 3.17 goals per game. This is a team that has always had struggle finding the back of the net but is shooting the lights out this season. Will they get more than three against Minnesota?
