As has been the case most of the season in New Jersey, the Devils got some good news and some bad news on Sunday.
Devils injuries: Cory Schneider to start against Wild, Peter Harrold put on IR
Schneider missed the last three games with a lower-body injury.

New Jersey activated goaltender Cory Schneider from injured reserve, and placed defenseman Peter Harrold on it. According to Tom Gulitti of Fire & Ice, Schneider will get the start on Sunday in Minnesota. He missed the last three games with a lower-body injury.
Harrold’s injury sounds more serious. The young defenseman hasn’t played since Oct. 22, when he suffered a lower-body injury in Columbus. According to Gulitti, Harrold has still been practicing with the team despite the injury.
When healthy, Schneider has been one of the best goaltenders in the league this season with a 2.14 goals against average and a 9.15 save percentage. Harrold has no points and is minus-6 through nine games this season.
New Jersey has called up rookie defenseman Jon Merrill from the Albany Devils of the AHL, though it’s unclear at this point if he’ll get the start tonight.
