Colorado Avalanche forward Cody McLeod won't face a suspension from the NHL Department of Player Safety following his boarding penalty on Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin on Friday, the Denver Post's Adrian Dater reports.

McLeod was suspended earlier this year for a similar incident.

McLeod was suspended for five games earlier this season for a hit from behind on Niklas Kronwall, and apparently hasn't changed his game much since. The Avs winger injured Brodin when he shoved the defenseman head-first into the Colorado bench boards from behind.
Brodin left the game but eventually returned, while McLeod was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct. You’d think such a dangerous play from a repeat offender would warrant a suspension of some sort, but the NHL apparently disagrees.
